Regional Development Australia Central Coast supports new Regional Airport
Acting Chair of Regional Development Australia Central Coast, Mr Phil Walker has welcomed recent announcements that Wyong Shire Council is working towards the establishment of a new regional airport on the Central Coast.
“This major project will deliver essential infrastructure for the region, create much needed local employment, directly enhance tourism and boost economic activity within the region” Mr Walker said.
The Regional Development Australia Central Coast Board is pleased that Wyong Shire Council has taken the initial steps required to commence this essential project and the Board looks forward to supporting Council throughout the life of the project.
Regional Development Australia Central Coast Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Mouland said that “regionally significant initiatives such as a regional airport are a great step forward in addressing the long term needs of the Central Coast. It was pleasing to see that Council has already advertised for a Project Manager to oversee the environmental, geotechnical, noise and economic studies and draft master plan that will be required for the airport development.
“Regional Development Australia Central Coast looks forward to supporting Wyong Shire Council through each step of the process, as this project will attract further investment and development for the Central Coast” Mr Mouland said.
