What is Your Vision for the Central Coast?
20-02-23
Regional Development Australia Central Coast (RDACC) is partnering with the Urban Design Institute of Australia (UDIA) to bring together two of the Coast’s most influential leaders: Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast, Adam Crouch MP, and Shadow Minister for the Central Coast, David Harris MP, to hear their visions for the future of our region.
Held on Thursday 23 February 2023 from 3pm – 6pm at Mingara Recreation Club, UDIA’s first local event of the year will also feature a discussion around how each will be working with the development industry to support the realisation of these visions for the Central Coast.
RDACC Chair, Lawrie McKinna, says it’s a rare opportunity to bring together the views from both sides of politics in a local forum that encourages engagement and interaction.
“Everyone is always wanting to have a say on what they think the Coast should look like and the direction we should be heading – well this is your chance to have those views heard by the people who have the power to make things happen,” says Mr McKinna.
“With the NSW State Election less than a month away, the timing is right to be talking about the big issues this event will tackle including ideas from both sides for supporting investment for more local jobs and tackling our affordable housing shortage.”
RDACC CEO & Director Regional Development, John Mouland, says the event will address priorities on the RDACC Agenda, which significantly impact much of the Central Coast community.
“In addition to working with developers to create more local jobs and tackle our region’s crippling housing shortage, Mr Crouch and Mr Harris will address regional infrastructure priorities, greater integration between transport and land use planning, structure of the incoming Central Coast Council, and strategic conservation planning,” says Mr Mouland.
“These are all priorities on the RDACC Agenda, as well as an issue we have been advocating for, for many years now – the activation of the Warnervale Town Centre. This event is an opportunity to get answers on several of our region’s biggest challenges – it is not to be missed.”
