New CEO announced for Central Coast Council

02-03-21

Regional Development Australia Central Coast (RDACC) has welcomed the appointment of Mr David Farmer as the new Chief Executive Officer of Central Coast Council.

News of the appointment follows a recent meeting between RDACC Chair, Lawrie McKinna and CEO, John Mouland, with Central Coast Council Administrator, Mr Dick Persson AM, to discuss opportunities for the region, including progress on the recruitment of a new Council CEO.

Mr McKinna says both himself and Mr Mouland were advised that recruitment of a new Council CEO was well underway and welcome today’s announcement that this integral Central Coast position has been appointed.

“RDACC is very pleased that David Farmer has today been announced as the new CEO of Central Coast Council,” says Mr McKinna.

“With 40 years’ experience in local government both in NSW and Queensland, and as Chief Executive of four councils over the past 23 years, he has a proven track record in leading councils through challenges – experience that will be vital in this new era for the Central Coast.

Mr McKinna further welcomed Mr Farmer’s appointment as a crucial next step in council’s recovery and an indication that provides strong reassurance to the community that the organisation is on the road to recovery.

“The vast experience David brings to the council will directly assist the entire region and build on our focus of collaboration across all levels of government to deliver positive outcomes for the Central Coast that our community rightly deserves,” adds Mr McKinna.

The RDACC Board and staff look forward to welcoming Mr Farmer to his new position on 12 April 2021.
